Metaphor 
Oh God, how poignant. And,how apparent for those who can see and hear.
I studied accounting BC (before computers)and did bookkeeping to fill in my need for money thru the years and saw what was coming with the computer i.e. bookkeeping was becoming data entry and accounting managers so I speedily learned so I wouldn’t drop into data entry.
In the process I did my share of data entry..would blow my mind and hurt my joints.
