In response to this post by Billie on camera-obscura (check out the comments too), I offer this photo of my bro Joe, left, and me. That’s a state-of-the-art PlayDoh Factory, circa 1967.
Yeah I remember stomping on that freezer pedal, probably in search of ice cream. And check it out: those chairs and table are in my condo now. Sweet.
I was not fortunate enough to have a PlayDoh Factory, though I did lust for one. My family did have those same Early American chairs around the kitchen table. Oh, those refrigerators with the foot-pedals for opening the freezer compartment were pretty cool. We had a Philco refrigerator from 19 … well, we always had it.
I sent that photo to my brother, and he recalls it was taken just a moment before I lost my thumb. :o)
